Once upon a time, when we were a young boy or a girl, we had often seen the aero planes dash across the sky. We might have then wondered what it would be like to be a pilot. In the sheer excitement, we might have run across the fields with our hands spread out till the plane has gone out of our sight. We might have made paper planes and tossed it in the air and that ends the story of our love for aero planes. As grownups, we might have watched the air shows on Republic Parade or probably bought a very expensive toy plane for our kids or taken a flight and that is the closest we might have ever been. But have you ever wondered what it would be like if your child could actually design one of his or her own, make and fly it? Poornodaya Vidyanikethan gives a platform for your child to have this delightful practical exposure in their childhood. This is because, the school is a first of its kind following an alternative educational approach toward a holistic learning experience, that stimulates curiosity in the young, impressionable minds and equips them with tools to be better human beings which is the need of the hour. Hence as a part of the community project, along with many other workshops, Poornodaya Vidyanikethan would be providing a nature-rich setting for aero modeling workshop during the vacation period.
Aero modeling is the activity involving design, development and flying of air vehicles. It is in fact a very exciting and interesting way to learn, apply and understand the science and engineering principles even at a very young age. The entire exercise of designing, assembling and flying such models ignite the young minds towards innovations and make them think like a junior pilot. The activities are designed to create a memorable and meaningful experience for them, which also facilitate their joy of learning by relating to practical applications of the subjects they learn such as Physics, Math, etc. Every child gets a hands on experience of the basics of how to turn an aircraft left or right or control the speed with the help of the working models of gliders and Radio Controlled planes, which in turn improves their Hand –Eye coordination. This interesting sport not only enhances the logical capabilities of the child but also gets trained in life to cope up with failure while repairing damaged flying models. It is a great motivator for kids who have dreams of pursuing their future in the world of aviation. The chance to interact with aviation experts is a golden opportunity for them as well.
They really feel that they are engineers and develop a positive mindset to focus on the complex engineering concepts in the simplest manner ever and develop a habit of creative thinking. Some children are so creative that you would be surprised to find them solving a really challenging problem in a moment. So why don’t we take a step ahead and give our child the reason to be creative and active and spend more of their vacation time on this exciting field of science, which trains them to live a life of thrill and excitement rather than watch the TV box.
